Tide – Reef Tattoos Inspired Paint
Versions:
V1 – replaces the first main quest line face paint you receive after completing Becoming.
V2 – replaces the side quest face paint you receive after completing The Celebration Mural. This paint is a duplicate and the exact same one can be found at this location in the Upper Plains:
Installation:
This pack contains 3 face paints to replace a paint of your choice. After picking the version, to install
download AFOP Mod Loader and place it in you game directory (e.g. C:\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\AFOP)
download the Tide V1 – Reef Tattoos Inspired Paint AFOP.zip or Tide V2 – Reef Tattoos Inspired Paint AFOP.zip off this page, open it, move the blue folder into the game directory
If you’ve installed any mods before and already have the blue and some other folders from the path in there, manually move the files from this blue folder so it follows this path (same for both versions):
blue\baked\characterart\player\head\shared\paint
Switching paints:
The pack contains 3 different face paints, but only one will be active at once. But you can easily switch them around and the process is not complicated.
The name of the only active face paint should be:
p_res_head_paint_01_m.dds – V1
p_vlt_head_paint_01_m.dds – V2
By default the active one is (1) – side paint. To swap paints, edit the name of the active one (adding a single letter is enough, i suggest that you add (1) at the front to keep it organized) and remove either the (2) or (3) from the name of the paint you want to use. If you are unsure on what’s what, check the pictures in the descriptions or while in the folder with the textures, pick large/extra large icons in view
Optional:
In optional files you can find extra textures for paint (1) that is mirrored and on the other side of the face now. Pick one for the version you are using and place it in the same folder with the rest of the textures
Disabling/enabling the pack:
If you wish to stop using the paints, either
delete the folders leading to the textures that contain nothing else/the textures themselves – to permanently remove the pack
rename the folders leading to the textures that contain nothing else/the textures themselves (adding a single letter will be enough) – to temporary disable the pack. You can enable it anytime by changing the name back
Important:
This pack can be disabled and enabled/the paints can be switched while in the game. If you have the paint on while doing so, take it off and on (might take few attempts) to see the changes. The paint already looks similar to tattoos with these colors in the picture below(both available from quests and the store).
