Feathers – Researcher Shirt retexture
Retextures the researcher shirt to be a native looking top.
Installation:
This pack contains changes both Researcher Shirt and its icon in the cosmetics window. To install
download AFOP Mod Loader and place it in you game directory (e.g. C:\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\AFOP)
download the Feathers – Researcher Shirt retexture AFOP.zip off this page, open it, move the blue folder into the game directory
If you’ve installed any mods before and already have the blue and some other folders from the path in there, manually move the files from this blue folder so it follows this path:
blue\baked\ui\loose_images\generated\gear\torso\base – shirt icon
blue\baked\characterart\gear\player\res\torso\base\g_res_torso_base_02\textures – shirt texture (3 textures, _d.dds, _n.dds, _m.dds)
blue\baked\characterart\resource\detailed_normals\hunter\character – fabric texture. The original texture is shared among other clothes and adds a little knitted pattern to the fabric, the one in this packs removes it. As it’s bound with other several other items (even though the difference is subtle, i personally didn’t notice any changes at least on the na’vi styled clothes), this one texture is optional. However it looks messy with the default texture.
Disabling/enabling the pack:
If you wish to stop using the retextured top/icon, either
delete the folders leading to the textures that contain nothing else – to permanently remove the pack
rename the folders leading to the textures that contain nothing else/the textures themselves (adding a single letter will be enough) – to temporary disable the pack. You can enable it anytime by changing the name back
Compatibility with other researcher shirt packs:
If you already have some other retexture packs for the same shirt, either:
move the textures into the same folder and change the names (adding a single letter is enough) of the textures you temporary don’t want to use. The active textures should be from the same pack and remain named g_res_torso_base_02a_d.dds (color map), g_res_torso_base_02a_m.dds (metallic map) and g_res_torso_base_02a_n.dds (normal map). If the other pack you are using came with color map only, simply edit this pack’s metallic and normal maps’ names so they the default texture become active.
create separate textures folder in the g_res_torso_base_02 folder in the path for each your pack and move the existing textures into their respective folders. Edit the names of these folders so you can tell them apart (adding the author’s name or assign them numbers), the folder with the the only active pack should remain named just textures.
Important:
This pack can be disabled and enabled while in the game. If you have it on while doing so, reopen the cosmetics window and take it off and on.
If you are disabling and enabling the detailed normal texture only, it takes longer to load compared to other textures and needs few more equipping-unequippings to see the changes
