Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Resembles Far Cry More Than Assassin’s Creed
I must admit, having not seen the Avatar films, the Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora release date trailer initially didn’t captivate me during its showcase at Ubisoft Forward. However, my interest was piqued by the Far Cry-style outposts featured in the trailer.
In the game, players take on the role of a Na’vi protagonist tasked with ousting the RDA from the frontier. This involves infiltrating heavily industrialized bases, stealthily taking down guards using a mix of Na’vi weaponry and skills acquired during interactions with humans.
Two aspects particularly stand out in the gameplay. Firstly, the stealth element appeals to me greatly, despite not being deeply invested in Pandora’s world or the expansion of the Avatar narrative. Secondly, the outposts remind me vividly of those in the Far Cry series, which have been highlights in Ubisoft’s action games. Experiencing these in a Pandora setting is intriguing and raises my anticipation for exploring Pandora for the first time.
With the release date set for December 7, more information about Frontiers of Pandora is expected in the upcoming months. While exploring more of Pandora is certainly appealing, I’m particularly eager to see how the outpost system will be implemented in this new context.
